The strategy is a simplified, hand-authored approximation of solver output — not the output of a solver run we did ourselves. Every spot is labelled, and we would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.

Where the numbers come from

The preflop strategy is derived from published solver-derived ranges for 6-max no-limit hold'em at 100 big blinds, with frequencies and expected values built from an indifference model. That means the shape of each range — which hands raise, which fold, which mix — follows established solver output, while the exact percentages are our model rather than a solve we ran.

What that means in practice

For learning the ideas that actually move a beginner's win rate — position, range shape, why a hand mixes at all — this is the right level of precision. For squeezing the last fraction of a big blind out of a specific river spot, it is not, and no product at this price is.

Rake

Solver output is usually computed without rake. Real games have it, and it matters most in exactly the spots where a solver defends widest — the big blind above all. Where a range is rake-sensitive, the data says so, and the coach is instructed to be more cautious there.

Where it is going

Real solve output replaces this data set node by node. When it does, the label on each spot changes with it, and this page's numbers change automatically, because they are read from the data rather than typed here.

What we will never do

Claim a precision we do not have. Every spot carries a confidence rating and a provenance label, and both are visible in the product rather than buried here.
